You’re looking for something. You’re not sure what. You don’t know the shape, color, sound, or feel of it—but you know that it’s out there. Out here in this place that you’re introduced to as Purgatory. The shadows around you coalesce into mazes and the walls seem to whisper. Strangers are in the same circumstances as you and yet none of you seem to know any better than the other. All you can agree on is one thing: you cannot—no, that’s not quite right. You refuse to leave without whatever you came here to look for.

Now you just need to figure out exactly what that is.

Welcome to Purgastory, a six-ish week invite-only short-term game that will be focused on character arcs and relationship building. The game will have an assortment of themes floating around that will handle the unpacking of trauma, engaging in self-reflection, and pursuit of the betterment of the self… or not! You can, in fact, get worse! We’re not the boss of you. Characters will arrive to Purgatory with the memory that they came here to look for something, but do not remember what. They can only hope that engaging with the assortment of mazes that appear each week will bring them closer to what they seek. The mystery will be unraveled gradually over the weeks, and character choices will determine the personal resolution that they come to by the end of the game runtime.

Weekly mazes will have horror elements with an emphasis on character exploration and relationship building. That said, we’re also not going to tell you that you can’t get a little silly! The game—and Purgatory—is what you make of it.

A note for those considering multiple characters is that while at game start, we will ask that you only app one character, there may be the opportunity to app an additional character midway through the game.

Character Considerations: Love of my life Kaveh GenshinImpact is the top contender because I miss his beautiful face every day.... other options are Suo Wind Breaker if we somehow get his backstory (we won't) or maybe Ilulu Another Eden if AE gacha stops hating me...... unfortunately I got another waifu instead of my husband today so the chances of this are also extremely low

Mitsuba TBHK is also on the table if I feel like being a dramatic 14-year-old instead of a dramatic 29-year-old but I'd need to go hunting for the scans to canon review because they got eaten... rip
